Aquamaxx HOB-1 Skimmer pump replacement

Hello,

I recently purchased an Aquamaxx HOB-1 skimmer and it appears that the pump is not forcing the bubbles to overflow into the collection cup. It comes with a Shark 1.0 pump. I would like to replace it with a stronger pump, such as a Sicce Syncra pump.

1) Will the Sicce Syncra 1.5 fit into the Aquamaxx HOB-1?

2) Any other pumps (that will fit) you would recommend?
