Aquamaxx HOB w/bubble stopper

Hello- thoughts on this skimmer? Is the "bubble stopper" model worth it or just buy the one without it?
Or any recommendation on other brand of HOB?

I have the Aquamaxx HOB without the bubble stopper. I haven't had any issues with bubbles. Keep in mind my skimmer exits to the rear of my nanotube. It's a Good skimmer. It produces gunk and its quiet! I just didn't like the gaudy yellow tubing. I upgraded from an Aqua-C Ramora Nano HOB (I think that's what it was named). It was SUPER loud and produced only very wet skim.

I purchased the Aquamaxx HOB-1 without the bubble stopper, however after dealing with lots of micro bubbles, ended up ordering the bubble stopper. At first I had it mounted such that the foam was below the water, and had large bubbles coming out the top of the foam. By changing the angle of the 90 bend, I was able to raise the top of the foam above the top surface of the water, which did eliminate the bubbles, however now I am concerned about the lack of water movement compared to what I originally had without the stopper. Note the bubble stopper foam is pretty big and unsightly. Wish there was a way to eliminate the micro bubbles without the large foam, and keep the water movement at the surface. Otherwise I like the Aquamaxx skimmer HOB-1.
