aquamaxx skimmer cup keeps pushing itself down daily

its a ws-1 skimmer and every day I've had issues with this stupid thing now the collection cup just won't hold its own weight. I have a overflow tube setup to a bucket so the collection cup should be full at all times and drain right in but the cup keeps sinking down and then everything gets messed up. I think its possible its the red o ring and bubbles keep spitting out from there making the seal wet but what can I do do fix it?

You could wrap some rubber bands around it's skimmer cup, below and above the red O ring to hold the cup in place.
