My review of Aquarium Care Center ,, I bought 4 coral frags from them ,, the two main corals I wanted from them were a Pink ******* Chalice and a Babies Breath Favia ,, I also bough two other coral frags,, a Favia and a zoa frag. So, its a good news ,, bad news review ,,

I ordered the corals on the morning of one of their shipping days ,, they got the order that morning ,, boxed it up and sent out ,, corals were in my tank at 8:30 am the nest day ,, doesn't get any better than that ,, The Chalice frag was perfect ,, nothing bad to say here ,, just like the WYSIWYG picture ,, a very nice frag happy happy happy :)

The zoa frag ,, it was a zoa frag,, just a add on piece to my order ,, I am not a zoa guy ,, if there is a multi polyp zoa frag to be had of something I don't have ,, and does't cost a lot of money I am buying it :)

The Favia frags ,, here comes the bad part of my review ,, I bought two ,, the main one I wanted was the Baby Breath Favia ,, kinda a hard one to get,, sort of ,, I am on the want to buy list with another company that sells this coral ,, but has been out ,, they sell pretty quick ,, the other Favia ,, not so hard to get ,, but its one I didn't have ,, so in the box it went ,,

I have a bunch of Favia frags ,, my view on them ,, they will reach out and bite other corals ,, you have to be mind full of where you place them ,, in my tank ,, they are going onto their own rock or larger frag disk ,, to be placed on the sand bed ,, if I can remove the coral from the disk it came in on ,, I do that ,, if its already encrusting ,, I just cut the stem off the plug,, if it has one ,, and glue that disk to whatever I am going to grow the coral out on ,,

So ,, I start with the ,, not ,, Babies Breath Favia ,, it came in on this God awful frag disk ,, its star shaped ,, has all these star points coming off of it ,, the stem on the disk is so big ,, it won't fit into my frag rack ,, I know right off ,, I am going to have to get the drimel out and go to work on this disk ,, the star points are going to have to come off and the stem is going to have to come off ,, Coral Companies ,, don't use these disk ,, we don't want to buy corals on these disks ,, if I want the coral on one of these specialty disk ,, I will put it on one after I get the frag ,,, I am thinking ,, well at least its not on the Babies Breath Favia ,, the main one that I wanted ,, the upside ,, when I went to work on the disk ,, it was made out of some type of material that was a crumblie material ,, like a 2 part epoxy ,, I was able to make quick work getting it cut down to size ,, the down side ,, the coral is going to have to keep growing to fill the disk ,, grow down the sides of this think frag plug ,, before it even starts to think about getting onto my grow out piece of live rock ,,

Now onto the Babies Breath Favia ,, the one that I really wanted ,, doesn't get any better here :( gets worse ,, first look at the coral ,, its a encrusting frag ,, happy about that :) I am not removing this coral from it plug ,, I will just cut the stem off the plug and glue the disk onto my grow out piece of live rock ,,, wrong ,,, its on one of those frag plug disk that you can't cut ,, you know the ones ,, even my drimel can barely get thru this stem ,, I gave up on it ,, not wanting to heat the coral up from the drimel trying to get thru it ,, I ended up having to use a razor blade to cut the coral off the plug ,, losing the encrusting part of the frag :( not a happy camper ,,

Other than my frag plug complaints ,, the corals them selfs were really nice ,, I would buy from this company again ,,,

Thank you for the review!

Both of the frags that you received on abnormal frag plugs are from Credabel Coral Labs in Connecticut. These frags are 100% aquacultured, and they use these frag plugs in a similar fashion to "ReefGen" - making that their trademark. I am sorry that you had issues cutting the frags.

While I am thankful that all in all you were happy with your purchases from us, I just wanted to note that none of the favias that you received from us are Baby's Breath Favia, and they were NOT advertised as Baby's Breath. Both frags are direct lineage of Justin Credabel's mother colonies, the Angel Eye Favia and Poision Ivy Favia - both of which are very nice favias but entirely different from the Baby's Breath. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks again
