I have been looking around for a aquarium controller that can read my tank levels such as calcium and alkalinity and the one I can seem to find is the APEX Controller and I’m not looking to spend $800 on one. Is there any suggestions on what I could get or do?

Test Ca and ALK manually, use a temp controller and wifi smart outlets to control other stuff. Or build a DIY reef-Pi.

Edit: Or go used and pick up the parts from an older Apex model on ebay. It's ludicrous that this technology has been around for as long as it has and the prices are going *up*.

I don't think there's anything out there right now that can determine the levels without performing some kind of tritration test. Even if that is possible without doing the tests it's not going to be anywhere affordable.

You are going to spend a lot more than $800.00 to test Ca and Alk with a Neptune APEX & Trident.
