Hello,
I am in the market for an aquarium cover. I have a waterbox peninsula mini 25 gallon and waterbox reef 220.6.
I was wondering if polycarbonate would work or restrict light too much for coral growth and if acrylic would mess up oxygenation.
I would love to be directed towards a DIY kit for the big tanks and I do not want to pay $ 500+ for the custom made lids.
Thanks!

I only mention this because you ask for a DIY kit. I have a Waterbox 65.4 and used the D+D jumpguard kit on mine. It’s not hard as long as you have something to cut the frame with. I used my dremel. I will say that my 65.4 is an AIO so I did not have to create a frame to fit around overflows or light brackets though. But it comes out clean and sits flush with the top of the glass. I added a feed port and more than pleased with it. Of course if I had money to blow I’d order a nice lid from the kraken reef or top lids or somebody.

I have the DD jumpguard on my big tank. I like it, wish I had done it in 2 sections somehow though. Both because it’s a little floppy over 4’ and having the cover off the whole tank is hazardous with jumpers.

So I know this isn't your exact tank, and there is not picture on the site. So hopefully @Tenecor Aquariums can chime in with a photo.

But they will custom make a lid to size. Feeding holes, and notches for light/cords.

I just stole these lid images from his site so you see the style, this is from their peninsula 17.

There's another vendor frequently mentioned for lids that I recall seeing as well. No idea what they charge as it's all custom as well.

Hey guys, just chiming in as another option for custom polycarbonate lids that are 5 year warrantied. I've included some pictures below of our lid frame style for the Peninsula Mini 25 and the Reef 220.6 from Waterbox. To the OP @eqbal9947 Hope you find something that works well for you :)
