New system, everything is running, whats the best way to start the cycle, im using drying rock and dry sand so im basically starting with nothing

i acually purchased about 2 abouts of live uncured rock from the LFS and put it into my refuge chamber in the sump would that be good for about 40gallons to seed the tank?

That should give you some good ammonia. LOL

If you want to boost the bacteria pop. then use something like Dr. Tim's One and Only or Bio-Spira.

I used the general household ammonia to cycle my tank. I kept adding ammonia till the seachem ammonia alarm changes color. Then I wait till the color goes back to normal. Usually within a few days it goes back to normal and then continue this cycle. Once fish or corals are added then the ammonia dosing stops.
