I've been reading several articles on the use of alcohol and/or vinegar as a source of carbon to control nitrates and phosphate in our tanks.

Does anyone have experience using the these two forms of carbon dosing? Do these dosing methods work?

It absolutely works! I experimented with Vodka/MB7 dosing and VSV (Vodka/sugar/vinegar) dosing. Both worked well, it's just a matter of slowly adjusting dosages and tracking results to find the sweet spot. If you decide to experiment with organic carbon dosing, just be sure to take it slow and read everything you can on the subject.
