Hi Reefers,

I have got a 4000 US gallons of marine tank. The tank has a drain pipe of 1.5 inch x 4 going into the sump. Recently, i have noticed that the level of water in the DT has increased. On checking the drains i noticed two drain pipes are not functioning normally. I need suggestion as to how can i activate the normal flow. Water is flowing but slowly.
Please help!!

I don't know how your tank was plumbed but that is a good reason to use a ton of unions when doing PVC work. You can remove sections at a time without needing to cut. As stated, only way to remedy is to clean or replace the pipe :(

Pics of your plumbing?

This will probably work? :p:eek:

Maybe you can use a spring the plumber uses on your plumbing at home to deplumb your plumbing

YIKES...to the OP @Aliasger, this was only a joke...DO NOT use this stuff in your tank!!!

You could look for something like this and see if you get lucky without having to remove the plumbing. But like others had said, you'll likely have to remove the drain lines and either clean or replace.

If there is a valve open it all the way, then take a length of pvc 1 or 1.25 whatever fits inside the pipe & try pushing it down the pipe to clear it.
