Hi, i hope you dont mind me asking a couple questions.
This skimmer is maxed out on your 1200gal system or can it handle a lot larger load?
Can it be fed off the overflow of the main display or requires a secondary feed pump?
Is it noisy, where it needs to be in a seperate fish room?

Im setting up a 1k gal plus system . Sps dominant with a heavy bioload. Multiple frag tanks. And building a seperate fishroom in the garage with an attached greenhouse. Ive been looking at either Bills skimmer or 1-2 redseA sro 8000 ext recurculating skimmers located in the fishroom.

Shooter6 , sorry just seen this .
I have sold off all of my Aquarium Engineering equipment
Have moved over to Lifereef for skimmer and a large custom built calcium reactor
I still have the calcium reactor for sale

Is it the acr? Any reason you moved off from aquarium engineering?

No its not the new and improved model . It is the large model . More things to go wrong with new model imo. I like old school .
Was not happy with product .

LifeReef is the way to go! i bought a SVS3-36 about a year ago and it has yet to let me down lol. and the ablity to extend the skimmer when i upgrade my system is awesome!

Yeah ive been in the hobby since 1988 so tend to lean towards older school ways. Ill look into the life reef. May just build my own if i dont find what im looking for. Last skimmer i build was a double beckett back in the 90s.
