I recently added a bunch of bristleworms to my tank to help clear detritus so I have been more cautious about sticking my hands in the tank to upright frags or move rocks. Previously I have used an arm length pair here but the large size in rough to put on and off. I am pretty good about washing up before sticking my arms in the tank so I want to transfer to something that is a little easier (or just as robust and durable). I have been using the Gloveworks XL 6 mil gloves for fragging and general aquarium work but it led to a thought. How thick do gloves need to be to prevent the bristles from piercing the gloves? What type of gloves do you use? Any recommendations for a full length or hand covering that is cost effective and won't break on me after a month?

Im not sure but coralife aqua gloves are thick enough not even pointy rocks puncture it.

I have had these for about 10 years.

No cuts/rips, but I was out of the hobby for about 8 years and they were only used intermittently for cleaning the dogs.

I just ordered a pair of these. Coralife ones separated at the cotton inside and got soaked a few times. The orange type ripped very easily and didn't come in XL. I am hoping these are high enough quality to not make me give up on gloves.

I've used those and really like them, had them 6 months and use every other day. However for my 24" deep its a bit hard to reach to the bottom (as they are 22").

Risk is always that the manufacture started cutting corners over the past few years, but I just grabbed my pair and felt the inside. I cannot tell if the inside is cotton or some type of cotton / spandex / polyester mix. It's super soft and stitched very closely.

I cannot remember if I have ever totally soaked the insides, but I have no doubt that the tops have since I am by no means clean when doing WC or maintenance. To the point that tanks are not allowed in the main living space due to too much "stuff" and water.

Coralife ones lasted about 3 uses before the liner separated on me but I loved the initial feel of them. I think my liner was glued on or something.

These lasted about 6 months for me but were simply too tight. I have used them on and off if I knew my hands were not clean but had to get in the tank. One glove ripped about 4 months ago but was still functional until last night when it tore down to the fingers. RIP orange gloves.
