I use Disposable Obsterical Artifical Insemination gloves to do aquarium maintenance. Most are poor quality and leaks all the time. I also tried the Kent marine one, pretty much the same only costing more. Anyone has any recommendations?

I am interested to how many use gloves.

I have a pair of these gloves. They are very thick and will not leak. The hand parts are textured to give you a good grip on larger objects in the tank like rocks and larger coral colonies. They will survive a hit from a tang's "tang" as well which I have had happen. By being thick they do tend to be difficult to use for more delicate jobs like placing of delicate coral frags or any sort of precision work.

Pros: Thick, waterproof, durable, textured, arm length, protects against bristle worms and fish attacks

Cons: Thick, Hands are pretty large, one size fits all

I use them and totally agree with cdness.

Love this thread. I'm in the market for some aquarium gloves... any good ones that aren't "one size fits all"? I have tiny tiny hands.

I can't stand these gloves!! They are good if you have to move rock around (something I rarely ever do) or something like that. I bought them to be able to hand feed my anemone and it's impossible to do. I can say I've got a good feel of how astronauts struggle to do stuff in space.

my gloves are made of skin. I have found that to be dangerous and has given me many a rash from god knows what, but stubbornness will always prevail. When i frag, i at least do it all underwater, so if any squirts happen...they stay in the column. I am not blind yet (fingers crossed) but i do forget when i have cuts and dive in. YIPES THAT STINGS!!!! I promote gloves as a hypocrite.

I tried these out and hated them. I have a 120 long and it is 25.5" tall so when i go to the bottom of my tank they fill with water and i get wet anyways. And they are to big and bulky for my liking. For stacking rock they would come in handy but thats about it for me.
I know its not the best practice but i just dont wear any now. Once and a while i might use some powder free nitrile gloves.

Agreed.

Thats exactly how i feel. Cant stand them.

The only time these gloves came in handy is when I had chemical burns to both my forearms. I had to duct tape them so no water would seep in. Other than that, they were way too bulky for me.
