Hi guys, I have T5 lighting in my system. I use 3 blue and 1purple in the day and turn on the white light in the afternoon for about 2-3 hours. My corals are doing good so far with the light. However, my light is too bright, so bright it covers the beauty of the corals and totally hide their beautiful coloration. Is there any light I can add to pop out the beauty of the corals while the T5 light is on? Im worried if I get an expensive LED the T5 might over shadow that and it will be useless. Thanks.

T5 & led combo in my opinion is the best lighting. Maybe add a actinic reef bright strip or some UV light. I’m not a fan of the purple bulb so I replaced mine on my smaller tank with a ATI Actinic and 3 Blue+ bulbs and have a Actinic Reef Bright as well. Tank is only a few months old so no coral yet but the awesome coloration of my fish and the fact I already have coralline growing everywhere make me think I found my combo.

I'm thinking of adding the LED but im not sure if the T5 would overshadow it. I have the ATI Actinic. The lighting itself is awesome for the corals but I want to get the tank to go a bit dimmer to get the colors of the corals to pop out.

Switch out the purple as they are bright for the Actinic as they add color pop but are actually a dim bulb. I think that’s what your after.
