Hey, I'm new to reef2reef and I'm setting up a 29-gallon tank and looking to purchase a light for around 150$ any recommendations? (Dimensions are 30.625 inches long, 19 inches tall, and width is 13.25 inches) Thank you.

Do you plan on hanging the light or using mounting arms
sorry for answering so late but I'm not planning to do any of those I'm really just planning to place it on top of the glass lid I got since my budget is pretty tight but I could save up some money if its worth it.

my advice spend the extra 60 and get a prime 16hd. coral life is 150 but in that size tank u can only do softies that are placed in right areas in the tank from my experance. at least with the prime u can do lps and softies and have efficient par levels on a 29gallon.

A single Prime HD will NOT be enough to cover a 30" tank. At least 2 would be needed. If you need to save some $, go with 2 x Nycrew Hyper Reef 50W. They come with the mounts and will allow you to keep whatever you want. You can even add a controller down the road as finances allow.

Yeah i just got both of those in the mail today, I already got everything now i just need the lights but yeah you don't really need lights while there's no coral or fish so ill probably just buy it later down the line.

I would agree with another above to get 2 nicre 50 watts and space them out (not evenly). This would be the cheapest option that I would go with.

However, you also don't really need lighting right away if you want more time to wait and think about it
