Does anyone here use the Aquarium Note app? I have for years, but I recently had to replace my phone and no matter what I try (transferring data between phones with a cable, backing up to my laptop and restoring to the new phone, using samsung switch from laptop to phone AND phone to phone), I can't get the app data from my old phone to the new. I have years of testing, maintenance, schedules, livestock changes, etc. I'd have to either manually enter all that into the app one entry at a time on the new phone or start from scratch. Any ideas? Just keep the old phone and power it on as needed?

I know this won’t help your current situation but I keep a paper notebook. I was planning to transition over to an app as well, but found notebook to be more convenient. When the notebooks are full I digitize them as well (takes a bit of time but then my notes are backed up).

I’m not familiar with the app you have but would screenshots be a workable approach to back up your historical data? Even if it’s a few hundred photos it might still get the job done. Then you could start fresh on the new phone but actually could choose to keep the old app or move to another app or method.

I personally absolutely would not start from scratch; I’d find a way to back that stuff up as I think that historical data is too valuable.

Not a bad idea you have to keep the old phone for your aquarium log but if you can’t get the data off that phone, continuing to use it is kind of just pushing the issue out into the future.

Sorry if this is not much help but I hope it works out for you.

That screenshot idea is good! I can transfer that data via images to an album on the new phone and reference that album as needed. Thanks!

I use it, and have for the last year and a half. I really enjoy this app.
I recently upgraded my phone as well, from a Samsung Galaxy S9 to the S21 (it's been a while)
Are you using the original app, or the updates one (note 2)?

The original app on the old phone. The original version transferred to the new phone but I couldn't get the data across.

ACK! I just figured it out! I backed up the data on the old version/old phone to my google drive, and imported it into the new version/new phone! Can't believe I didn't figure that out until now. ::facepalm:: Oh well, at least I have the data backed up through screenshots now!

This is good to know. Screen shoted your answer, need new phone soon and that's the app I use.
Thanks

Great to hear it worked out in the end! :)

I totally feel your pain when it comes to losing all that valuable data from the Aquarium Note app during a phone swap. It's like saying goodbye to years of memories and hard work, right? Though my response might be fashionably late, I wanted to share a trick that could be a game-changer, not just for you but for others who might be in the same boat.
So, here's the scoop – have you ever tried online notes? I stumbled upon it, and it's like a digital guardian for your notes. Some of my buddies swear by it, especially when they're changing devices and don't want to lose their precious data. You can check it out here: https://notesonline.com/. Trust me, keeping those notes intact is like preserving a piece of your history.
