Setting up an IM 30L on carpet in my office. What precautions if any should I take? Do I need anything under the stand? What do you wish you had done before you filled your aquarium with water on carpet?

I used to have carpet in my office and found it to be almost impossible to keep it clean. Finally put porcelain planks in and left tank on carpet cut out. My suggestion would be to find a way to make the carpet waterproof.

small tank, should be OK - putting hard wood board will make leveling easier with wood wedges. wedge directly on carpet is hard b/c overtime the carpet will compress and sink.

also will need a wet vaccuum, fan and heat lamp in case of flood or accident.

A plastic cover to cover the carpet when you are doing maintenance/wcs.

my 29G is carpet for 4 years.

If you have hardwood under the carpet, be extra careful with spills. A friend bought a house and I helped her pull up the carpet. Where the previous owner had a marine tank, the hardwood was black and warped.
