Hey guys,
Ive been reading up on how this works and was hoping to get some additional info. My aquarium will be located above a lower level parking area. The wall it is on it most likely no more than 2 feet from the cement where long beams will meet. The tank will sit perpendicular to the beams. The tank is 48x30x21 with a total water volume of 140 sitting on a metal stand. It looks like there is double joisted 2x10s or 2x12s every 16 inches. This means the tank will sit on a minimum of 2 sets double joists. Oh and there are 2x4s nailed down across the beams under my tile flooring. So is this ok to setup? Im thinking the total pounds will be around a ton on the high-end which will be about 180 pfs . Also, my floor does have some reflection when I jump up and down on it. In the pic the city came by to see if our building met earthquake codes and this is how I have access to the floors internals. They signed us off as A ok. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I had similar questions when setting up my tank. I live in a mobile home. The only real answer was no one can really help answer that, and to be careful when you do it. It's all about the shear strength of the support and... Lots of technical stuff that I didn't understand lol
