Hey guys. Just bought a 165 gallon used on marketplace. The plastic trim is broken and coming off. As well as the middle brace. The tank is glass. Would a couple glass pieces laid across the top and siliconed in be ok? Should i add a piece like euro bracing it along the front and back?

Silicone not strong enough to secure it. I would go with Weldon and lexan or hot glue gun to secure new brace and repair trim
Strength will be of importance

what brand tank is it? What are the dimensions? 165g sounds like an odd size, so choices may be slim to fix this.

How are your DIY skills? and do you really want to take the time to try and replace a frame?

I Think its actually an aqueon 160. My DIY skills are pretty plentiful. Id rather remove the grame and put glass in

If the plaztic frame is falling apart , a old tank is at hand , a full rebuild can make it reusable , a full teardown is required , not adding a new brace nope
