aquarium plumbing not compatible with return pump, help!

I have a Reefer 250 G2 tank and trying to connect it to a Neptune cor-15 pump, but they don't seem compatible (at least not with the parts included).

The tank came with all the plumbing but the manual is horrible. It doesn't state the spec/size of the plumbing. The pump has a 3/4" opening but I think it only works with PVC, but the Reefer only included flex tubing to connect to the pump.

How can I hook up the two? I think I would need a 3/4" spigot barb adapter (like THIS ONE). Can someone confirm if this is correct, and if not, what I would need to purchase to connect them together? Also, is that flex tubing 3/4"?

Gray part goes over the tube and nut over the top of the compression fitting or you can go to home depot and get a barbed fitting that screws onto the fitting

Is this what u mean? It's not secure, I can still pull out the flex tube with very little force. (I think the dark grey piece is meant for PVC hard tube that goes in and glued?)

The spigot barb is what you would need as long as the flex tube is 3/4. Keep in mind you will have to glue that fitting into the core pump fitting

Yes but take the nut off pump, slide it up hose, then take that little washer thing and slide over hose then screw nut down and it should seal
