I have recently set my t a k up and have come across a major hurdle. I made a diy overflow (like king of diy on youtube). Turns out it won't work without a pump at the top of the overflow. I have looked at toms aqualifter but can't find it anywhere except Walmart and it's expensive for what it is. I am desperate to find one as right now my tank sits completely still and lifeless. What can I use to suck the air out and keep a constant suction there?

Another option is a dosing pump but I doubt you will find a "name brand" that is consistent and cheaper than an Aqualifter. Here is an EBay one which might work:

That would be perfect. I'll look for something very similar or another seller. That one won't deliver till March

My opinion of course.....that king of DIY overflow design is junk. Just drill the tank. You will be so glad that you did.
