Looking to move a tank from Connecticut to New Jersey. Anyone used a mover they can recommend?

This will be a big task. You should prob post how large the tank is with dimentions and the material it is made out of

Almost no professional moving companies will touch an aquarium, defiantly none of them will move your livestock. Too much liability.

If you’re looking for someone to move the whole system, that’s a tough ask and it’s gonna have to be a specialty reef related business.

honestly though, you’ll probably have to tear it down yourself into parts and then move everything and set it back up.

was looking for recommendations - good moving company

Most movers won’t touch it unless it’s crated up, due to liability of it breaking. Best to call an lfs that does maintenance and have them do it. But money always talks...

How old is the tank? If it's relatively new, maybe moving it is a good option, but if it's older, the stress of that kind of move may not be something you want to take on.

I would sell it locally, save the $700-800 in moving costs, and then buy a new tank (upgrade!) to start things off fresh.

Three times I’ve used U-ship and the drivers were courteous, good communication and insured.
It’s free to list and you get bids from drivers on costs
