Hello, I'll start with where the idea came from. I have some dry vita rock I got from a local guy tearing down his system. I'm in process of a 30 cube to replace my 40b, mostly for an aggressive pair of snowflakes and a nem or 2.

2 of the pieces have large flat backs/bottom. But laying these on the flat on the bottom of the tank just does not work. But if you stand them with the flat against the back glass it works great. I was honestly thinking to glue the magnets from old power head to them. Since its a heavier magnet and used an aquarium already.

Any help with this be appreciated. One rock is 1-2 lbs maybe and the larger one 4-5 lbs. Then larger one I just want more to hold it up. As it would be near the bottom of the tank and maybe have rocks semi under it. But not leaning against glass if magnet is there. Then smaller rock above this a few inches.

Will try and get pics later and help on magnets I could use be great. I have at least 4 power heads and I think half or more quit. So lol may tear then apart

Thanks

Alex

Hey Alex, give these guys a try http://www.magnet4sale.com/ they have the best price and selection of Neodymium Magnets I've found so far and have used them from many Reef related projects. For inside the tank I use the Epoxy coated ones and apply another layer or two with Appliance Epoxy spray paint for added protection.

Cheers, Todd
