I have read in several sources that the ideal salinity for saltwater aquarium (mine is fish only, but I'm thinking of adding corals soon) is 35 ppt or between 1.023-1.025. However, the saltwater I get from the fish store is around 30 or 1.022. Should I adjust the salt before making a water change?

As corals are soon on the agenda, you should bring your DT upwards, no more than .001 per day until you reach 1.025. Your DT should remain at this level always, the less flux the better. You can consider an ATO which makes the “make up water” automatic and will keep your DT on point.
Then, water changes should done at 1.025.

Uncle99 gave you good advice. I run my display at 1.026 but 1.025 is good too. Having an auto top off is just about mandatory. It keeps the salinity much more constant and marine critters LOVE stability.

What size of a system are you running? Just throwing in a few softies, or did u finally catch the reef bug ;Bucktooth
Might be the time to go get the RODI system ;)

If not that, then you might just switch to buying rodi water from your lfs and mixing your own salt at home. If you need to have a bucket of salt to adjust up the lfs saltwater, might as well.
