I recently began my 20 gallon hex tank. I am 4 days into it and this is how it started and my readings thus far.

Day 1: Live sand for the bottom with dry reef rock. Filled the tank with a boxed brand nsr. Let settle overnight.
Day 2: Added an 8oz bottle of bio-spira, chunks of live rock in the aquarium and HOB filter, and added a clownfish to help introduce ammonia in the tank.
Day 3+4: Clown seems healthy. Swimming normal and eating. Lights only on 1 hour a day for feeding purposes.

Readings have been the same since starting testing on day 2.
PH: 8.2
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0.25
Nitrate: 10ppm

I would love to know what y’all’s opinion of how I am fairing and where in the cycle this puts me.:)

Attaching some photos below of the tank and comparing the tanks current ammonia test compared to a test of unused nsr.

Went ahead and compared my nitrites to the nsr this morning and both are showing basically identical, leading me to believe nitrite is also basically 0. Salinity has stayed at 1.026
