I would like to here opinions on the depth of the aquarium. Right now I have a 75 gallon built in my wall I am starting over and I have 2 more threads on my whole reaquascape plans I am working on.
But my question here is my 75 gallon aquarium is old and has the center divider on top and the overflow is ugly I was thinking of trying to do something with my new aquascape to cover it up but then I saw this tank for a good price new and thought dam that would work great because other than feeding I never see my fish at the top allot so the extra width and the depth being only 16" would work great for a reef. I would like to get input or pros and cons on this because I don't really know.

I’d stick with yours. Just get more coral like acros that grow vertical. It will fill in the empty space and you won’t have to renovate your house. ;)

Nothing wrong with your current tank. I was going to upgrade I would consider a 120 as its 4 feet wide and will fit in wall. You could go in the middle with a 90 gallon as well.

Yeah, I just dont see the benefit in going from a 75 to a 80 gallon. Might as well just go to 90 or 120 and maintain the width and height so it fits into your inwall display slot.

The 48" is all I can do but I don't really trust the tank after I drain it one more time it just has to go and I hate the overflow the new one is in the corner at least. I would really like a peninsula style but can't swing a custom price with everything else I need.

Corner overflows are old news now though, it’s all about the ghost overflows. Maximize the space inside your tank. Redsea makes peninsulas, they aren’t custom.

Standard 90 and 120 gallons are 48". I second going with a ghost overflow.

You can often find 90 and 120 gallon tanks second hand depending on your area.

Dam I hear but I hate mine and the corner is better than what I have and actually plumb up nice for where I have it it I have just enough room for the ghost overflow but can't find one for my budget that's why I was thinking of this one. Here are some older pics that show what I have to work with and those are the lights I built IMG_6463.JPG LstPUmoOSmCSkGO23EKmsA.jpg
