AiptasiaX, Joe's Juice, and all the other supposed aiptasia remedies in a bottle.
Whaaaat?? I've used that stuff to clear Aiptasia from two different tanks, it works like a charm.AiptasiaX, Joe's Juice, and all the other supposed aiptasia remedies in a bottle.
You onviously have never used Frytz zyme 900 turbo start. It's expensive and requires overnight shipping but this stuff works great! Cycled my 215 with it and never showed traces of ammonia on test kit.For sure the bacteria in a bottle products
Lfs advice.

Thats a good one...I remember when Bob Goemans was pushing that... Really nice guy who really cared about the hobby but pushed the wrong product and the hobby turned on him.Eco Aqualizer.
I actually love my local fish store. They give great advice and every employe has at least 10+ years experience. It's only 4 guys but a large store.
Ph buffer and purple up!
- Purple up works. It adds calcium, alk and iodine to a tank. This is what Coraline algae requires to grow. There are other less expensive options especially for large systems but it works as described.
- Bacteria additives speed up a cycle but overnight cycling is a bit silly. It depends what your expectations of a cycle is. Undoubtedly their is quality difference between each product. Some are probably so diluted & contaminated that they would qualify as snake oil while others can significantly help reduce cycle time and reduce microfauna loss or any other living organism it the tank.
- Joe's Juice works. Again it depends what your expectations are. If you follow the instructions turning off flow and cover the aiptasia with it, it will die. I have witnessed it. In a problem tank with lots of aiptasia it probably isn't a realistic solution due difficulty of access to the aiptasia. For onesie, twosie it works fine.
- PH Buffer; a bit surprised to see that in this thread. It is what almost every reefer in the world uses to boost alkalinity and PH in their tank. (exception to those that have calcium reactor). PH buffer is Sodium Carbonate/Bicarbonate
