Hey folks
I have a question about a tanks temperature when it comes to housing anemones.
This has to also do with the location of ocean water where the anemones are from in the wild.
Setting aside acquacultered anemones which undoubtedly were in steady temperature tanks we are told to maintain a certain temp in our tanks but I rather doubt the ocean locations where certain anemones thrive for hundreds of years have temperatures that do not fluctuate with seasons.
This being the case. Are we told to maintain the steady temperatures so the the PH does not fluctuate?
We know we are told to keep a light on the refugium/sump 24/7 to prevent a PH fluctuation and we also know that the ocean does not have a light on it 24/7 " however due to its large size we believe the PH does not fluctuate when light turns to darkness enough if at all to cause any stress to its inhabitants. So is the tank light due to the small water voluum? And if this is the case does the same rule apply for the temperature?
If one elected to allow their tank temp to increase in the summer and be cooler in the winter would this harm an anemone?
