Hey Everyone, hope you're all doing well. I want to buy a tank from a friend and a small part of the trim is missing. Will this cause any problems?

I'm trying to upload a pic and it's not working. I'll keep trying

If its a must have tank you could always get another frame. If its not a must have then I would stay away.

Most trim is more cosmetic than structural. Cross braces are more important. I suppose I’d worry that whatever ‘abuse’ resulted in the trim damage may also have affected the tank.

That the trim is cosmetic. Yes, the cross braces are probably more important, however, where this is broken in the corner is one of the points you definitely do not want missing parts of the trim. I'm speaking from experience here. Over time the glass on that side is going to start to creep away from the side and you'll be dealing with a mess. Again, I know this because I have dealt with it.
