I know this question has been asked a million times but what is a good turn over gph thru sump as far as the display tank is concerned. I’m looking for a good return pump and need to know what to get I have a 75 gallon tank thanks everyone

For a 75gallon i believe 800 gph is good. But if it were me id get a controllable pump and dial it down until it maxes out or where i like it.

Do what your drains will allow. You do not need 10 times but you do need more than 2 or 3 times.

Doesn’t really matter. There are people with great tanks who do 2-3x; other with great tanks who do 20x. That there is essentially no correlation should tell you everything you need to know. My tank is about 4x, mostly because I don’t feel like burning through all the extra electricity for higher.

FILTER socks and skimmer are my only means of filtration. I do not have a refugium or else I would go much slower.
I also run a barebottom, so I like to feed heavily with return pumps for an hour and then crank them back up. Within an hour everything is clear again (have to change socks).
