I have brought an aquarium for my Betta fish, but not sure about the aquarium water temperature and pH for my fish? Will someone guide me here?

Hopefully you mean a 'freshwater Betta' as compared to a marine betta:). Usually Betta's are pretty 'non-picky' when it comes to pH. They come from the tropics - so 78? Hope this helps

Here is a care guide from fishlore. They have a betta forum there. https://www.fishlore.com/Profiles-Betta.htm

As long as pH is fairly neutral (6-8 or so), I don't think it will matter. I believe most captive bred freshwater fish are pretty used to water that doesn't necessarily match their native ranges.

Ideally, the tank would have a heater and be 5 gallons or so, but bettas don't always get ideal conditions. You should see how these bettes are shipped.

I read in the early days they were the first tropical fish to be introduced to England and indeed were shipped between pages of wet newspaper

That's awesome. I hadn't heard that before.

We used to get them shipped, circa 2005. They came in a pyramid shaped plastic bags about the size of a shot glass, with a teaspoon of water. They can breathe air, and I don't remember many casualties.

mind you I read that back before the internet, so there is an incrementally better chance of it being true (smile)
