Hi.
ATM have been discussing setting up a Red Sea Reefer 350 or xl425 with all the requirements to be suitable for a reef set up. Is this the best way to go, or do others have ideas about other complete Reef systems/aquariums (unsure if makes sense!)
I looked into the Red Sea Max Led S-series but sadly doesn't fit the gap I've alocated ie 120cm (4ft) lgth.
Thanks
PS as a novice, and that's in FW tanks, pls excuse this ridiculous question. When one discusses tank capacity in gallons is that tank only, or includes sump volume ie reefer 350 includes tank and sump capacity

Most Reefers refer to there setup or display size in gallons. Not including there sump or total system volume... My display is a 560... Hope that's helps, if u haven't bought your tank yet , get the biggest size u can afford to fit.....

The Redsea series are great tanks, nothing wrong with.

It helps a lot. I thk my confusion was the titles of the red sea series tanks I am of the opinion the name states the system volume as opposed to the main tank volume.
Yes, my lfs is a fan predom of the reefer series; he has found customers who had purchased the max series (C?) in the past often change the lighting at least to reduce potential running costs and heat produced

The red sea reefer series is a very nice setup, you won't be disappointed if you went that route. Get the tank that fits where you want and plan the rest accordingly.

Getting the tank and the stand is what most people want to do and you get a nice stand to go with it. If I was getting one I would get the 425 XL the deeper width is really nice to have.

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
