Hi all,

Well I have worked on my aquascape for my new 57 gal tank for the last few days. I really like the structure I came up with on the left in this pic, so I already set that shape with Jurassic gel (which, by the way, is amazing on dry rock).

Here's what I've got:

But now I am just not sure to do with the right side. Options include:
-make left side slightly taller, small island next to it
-move the whole left side to either the middle or the right side, since the structure is held together with glue
-if the left side moves to the right, turn the floating piece on the far left into an archway
-leave the left side alone and build a tower on the right
-other???

What do you guys think? This will be a mostly SPS tank btw.

I would probably take the small rock on top right, and put that on top of left island to make it slightly taller than it is now, and I'd scoot that center rock to the right and combine those two for a lower island w/ some seperation between the two islands, this would open things up and give varying levels which I think looks nicer.

I agree......although I would pick up a few more pieces of rock. Make the island on the left taller with the island on the right about half the height. It is up to you if you want to combine the two islands with an arch or substrate level rock. Of course, just my opinion......go with whatever looks good to you :)

I did something similar to my tank. redid the aquascape about 10 times lol. The center rock can be removed for a more open sandbed and I haven't decided which I like best. I made the right island with a more gentle slope with my corals in mind. Nothing will be on my sand bed so this will work out best. I tried to visualize what corals I wanted and where they would go.

Looks awesome!!

This is with the left side built up taller. Still not sure about the right though.

Sometimes it's the absence or negative space that makes the difference, personally I'd remove that center rock that joins the two, make a valley of sorts there, think that would be cool

It looks good as is. I like the valley idea. Remove middle rock and caddy corner the 2 structure's?
