Good Morning. I’m just starting to stock my new WaterBox 220.6. I’m not sure about the Aquascape I’ve chosen, because I feel there are not enough hiding spots for all the fish I will get. Plan is to eventually have about 11 fish. I was thinking maybe get a few smaller rock pieces and fill in around the tunnels under the arches to make them have a few cave areas. The smaller fish won’t have a problem finding spots, but as they grow, nice medium to large hiding areas are not existent. As you can see in one of the pictures, my Tomini tang likes to hide behind the intake nozzle by the overflow port (Next to last pic). She does have other small places low in the tank where she goes at night, but there isn’t much room in them.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I like it. This rock looks a little off to me; I can't figure out why though.

I think it’s just the camera angle on that shot. Its pretty square with the base.

I dig the overall structure. Since the primary features are mostly "archy" id agree that you can turn some of them into caves to add some hiding spots.

Something else to think about

1) not sure what corals you are thinking about, but many types spread/encrust fast and would really better to put on an island so they dont take over the whole strucuture. I think I see 1 small island one in your pics? Many add a few more if there's room on the sand? (Or make room by reducing/breaking up the main structure a bit)

2) islands are also the perfect opportunity by add caves by hollowing out the bottom instead of just laying down solid piece of rock. See pic below for my acan garden/island. Its currently home to my pep shrimps and the yellow wrasse

Great ideas. That’s what I’m think of. The tank will be predominate SPS with some LPS along the bottom tier. The high arches are to maximize the SPS space. Since I’ve gone with a bare bottom this time, I’m looking to make the lower “cave” areas out of smaller rock structures. I think it should not be hard to block the lower halves of the big tunnels under the arches so that it creates cave areas. I also like your idea of a few more little islands. I’ve got plenty of room for them and that will break up the bare bottom a bit.

Thanks

Jetson
