Aquascape not my thing.

Please take a look at the start to my aquascape. I have not set it in tank yet. I have 90gallon marineland corner overflow. I have an MP40 and a DCT 12000 as my return. I read article here and this is what I have started. Any advice is much appreciated.

I like the variations in height, the swim-throughs and the way it slopes toward what one might imagine is an open sandbed below clear blue seas, where one might catch a glimpse of a passing pod of dolphins.

Keep in mind that you'll likely want to get your algae scraper between the left side of the rocks and the glass, and leave room for that.

The rocks on the right side seem a bit ... scattered. Might be cool if they can form a separate structure, a bit more tightly placed together. Looks like you'll have plenty of room for coral growth!

What I'm going to do is cut a piece of cardboard the same size as the bottom of my tank. Then I'm going to just start setting up different scapes and see what I can achieve. Once it's all said and done it will be something that you created and will be proud of. Hope this helps a little.

Looks ok but too much rock for available real estate for corals and too many of the same size pieces. Take all the heavy pieces and put them to the side, these are great for base rock and structural integrity. Take a few of the rock and use a saw or if your not trying to do that just use a hammer and chisel and you will get many pieces and you'll become Michelangelo in no time . Those additional rock pieces are great for frags and even adding to the you rockscape at a later date.

Diversity of shapes, size, and texture is the secret to getting good aquascape, and just having more Rock then you need. If your rock is pukani than you should have no problem; try using Marcos rock what a pain..I have 7 different rocks in my tank now and you can't even tell. Yikes.

I agree with Maritimer about getting to close to the tank with your rock. I made that mistake once and the coralline algae was a real pain. Leave enough room for a magnetic scraper to get through. Otherwise it looks like an awesome aquascape.

I'd suggest not making that little bridge in the middle. IMO, creating negative space and multiple structures looks better.

All thank you for the ideas and feedback. Will go back to the drawing board with your ideas. Was thinking about taking the middle rock out for negative space or maybe a zoa garden in future. Once again thank you all so much.
