New 20 gal aquascape idea? Putting this large "shelf" an ok idea? Will i be able to grow any corals under this? If so what kind? Softy and LPS tank. I will maybe try one SPS after a few months of success. Thanks!!

so to the right of my fingers is the bottom of the tank where i am wondering if i cant put any corals.

Great idea. You'll be able to grow quite a bit in the shade. How are you going to have the rock "attached" to the back wall?

Well i know just about everything wont grow in there. I was wondering if there was anything out there that will. I plan on using epoxy and probably a couple small support pieces under it. I am trying to keep all of the rocks away from any of the walls.

Will you have a sand bed? That can reflect light back up and help to provide some extra light. I think you'll be suprised how many corals can survive and thrive and very low light. I have an elegance coral that is happiest in almost complete shade. I have found some acans can do really well in near complete darkness.

Sun Corals and Dendros would be the awesome. NPS can be a pain to keep fed though. Still there is something about those two corals ...

I do apologize. I thought u were trying to have fun with me. I do plan on having a deep sand bed, to bring everything up, before i put the rock down. Plus I do like acans very much. Thank you for your input!!!

Oh no that was never my intention. It is funny how text can be misinterpreted so easily online. Personally, I'd avoid the deep sand bed. Whilst it is cool to see the stratification in the sand bed, it takes up a lot of space in a nano. I'd go for two inches of sand. That is enough for most nano friendly sand critters.

So its been a couple days, and i didnt mean to say deep bed, and the tank finally has water and is doing its thing. The original aquascape didnt turn out as well as i originally planned but im happy with it for now. haha. Of course its cloudy now from adding water and sand, pus i put my MP10 in an hour ago so it got a little worse. But so far so good. Thanks for the tips!!
