While my tank is recovering from my battle with Bryopsis, I figured I would take this opportunity to redo my aquascaping.

What methods do you all prefer for adhering your rock together?

I have used different Reef cements in the past with mixed results.

I have heard of people drilling and installing PVC/acrylic rods.

So what are your suggestions and preferences?

I have always used gravity. Iv'e never had a collapse. of course I have not had an arch or something like tht either.

I use the Aquaforest Stone fix. Stuff work great. I actually using it in the tank after the tank was setup for a year. Made a ball stacked the rock and it has not moved since. Tried epoxy and the Stone fix worked better:) Aquaforest has a new glue coming out soon too, and I understand the works well also. For now the stone fix will serve your needs.

Rapid Set Cement All mixed with Acrylic Fortifier. Cement All sets in 15 min and structural strength in 1 hour. Cures to 9000 psi. Acrylic Fortifier helps with bonding. You can get the items at homedepot. Just support your aquascape until mortar sets. I waited a day. You won't need to use pvc or rods.

Decided to try the Nyos again as I had some left over. I agree with @cromag it took some playing with consistency to get a workable density.

I worked it all out of the tank as it was all already out from my bryopsis battle, I let it sit for about 24 hours to make sure it set before reintroducing it to the tank.

Here is the result:

I'm in the middle of doing some aquascaping for a second aquarium, I'm using Jurassic Gel from Paleo Bond. But I'm using dry live rock in this build, I'm also using 1/2" PVC and 1/2" acrylic rods. Be warned tho Jurassic Gel work well on dry rock. Won't work with water live rock, at least not for me. All depends on what you want your aquascaping to look like naturally :-)

drilling rods and epoxy or cement would definitely be my choice, a bit technically intimidating at first but once you get the hang of it works pretty easy
