Aquascaping Ideas for Zebra Eel (210 Gallon Display)

Hi y'all,

I'm setting up a new SPS-dominant tank. Doing aquascaping now. I had tried to create a design that incorporated a 3" PVC for a zebra eel, but it made the aquascape look too artificial, so I bagged that idea. Now that the PVC is gone, I'd like to create a natural looking burrow or cave to support a Zebra eel. I'd appreciate any advice or aquascaping ideas, especially pictures. This is my first reef tank. I want to make sure the Zebra has enough coverage to feel comfortable.

Use PVC cement and rock putty to glue rock to the entrance to the PVC. Also glue reef sand on the entrance pipe interior to make it look better or put something in there. It could look awesome. I'd cut down your entrance to a 2" diameter though, that'd work a bit better. It's what I've always wanted to do if I had the tank that size. While your tank is SPS dominant (which I do not recommend as this is your first reef tank and SPS are the most difficult coral) I'd advise putting some zoanthids around the entrance, it'd make an already cool entrance look awesome as well as help with the clean up from the eel's messy diet (my logic is that you'll usually have to feed him right around the entrance and this would help eat a few of the pieces of whatever you end up feeding him). PVC would make a great home for him.
