Does dry rock have to be glued together? Does it have to be on placed non the glass? As you may see I have loose rock sitting on sand, and I think may need to drain tank and start all over again 30 lbs of sand. 55 gallon tank with 30 lbs of dry rock. 30 more lbs on the way. Ok ok I now know I should have waited and put all rock in at one time buy here we are.

No, but depending on weight fish and inverts can and do dislodge your carefully balanced structures. On the glass - generally no, as you want to allow space to clean. Eventually corals (etc.) tend to secure the rock in-place over time.

Everything in my tank is gravity stacked, but I have one fish in particular who excels at knocking smaller rocks off every now and then.

scape looks fine. as @blaxsun has mentioned there is not need, but do make sure the rocks are secure enough so if you bump into them, they won’t fall

I like it! But the stand is making me nervous. It has to support around 500-600 lbs longterm and in no way does that look sturdy enough. It should be solid wood or metal and not a table or tv stand. Consider getting g a custom made stand or look for a fish tank stand meant for your tank.

I always put down a sheet of acrylic or hdpe first, then rock, then sand. I'd never put rock directly on the glass, or stack it on sand.

That's obviously legitimate lumber. The man probably built it himself and he stained and sealed it, did a good job of it too. He knows what he's doing ;)
