Aquatic life 115 skimmer

Has anybody put the aquatic life mini 115 in the first chamber of their biocube hqi? I've read of people using them in their second chamber but don't want to lose the fuge. Any ideas?

No I have not I use the tunze 9002 in mine but I have been eyeballing the aquaticlife. Hopefully someone will chime in.

I've seen a few builds with mods to the first chamber. Type in "aquaticlife 115 biocube 29" into Google and you'll get a couple hits.

I have one. got it last week and it's in the first chamber of my HQI. I did however have to hack a big hole in the top of the plastic cover for it to fit well, but the skimmer works really well

I was afraid I would have to cut a whole in it. Such a bummer.

Yeah its about 1/3" to tall. I also didn't want to have to reconfigure my second chamber as I'm running An InTank media basket and a fuge basket. All together it keeps my params PRISTINE! I think the benefits outweigh the negitave with the protein skimmer
