Is there any word on when it will be released and will the sb reef lights sbox 16 fit?

The way these are designed almost any light fixture will fit. If it has the capability to add mounting screws to the top and will physically fit between the T5 sections, you can mount it.

For sure. I was wondering if anyone has tried to put the sb reef light in one because the sbreef light website lists the width of the sbox16 as 8" and the aquatic life hybrid units are listing a 7" gap. Wondering if those figures are accurate. If so I assume you could make up some new side and inner brackets to make the the fixture wider. Wondering if anyone as attemted this with the 4 foot version that is currently released.

I have a SB reeflight in the attic but haven't unboxed my aquatic life unit yet.

I would wait for another month. Aquatic Life has said they will be releasing new, wider brackets as an accessory for their fixtures soon. Last I heard they should be available in late December.
