I have searched the forum and I am seeing bits an pieces of different opinions in unrelated threads about which size Aquatic Life fixture is best suited to your size tank.

i.e. I have a 60" tank and I am concerned that a 61" fixture would spill too much light. Should I instead be looking at a 48" fixture.

I would love to hear from people that bought these fixtures a size smaller e.g. 48" fixture for a 60" tank, if A) They regret it because there is not enough coverage or B) They happy they did as it's sufficient and bigger would of been too much light spill.

I would also love to hear from people that bought it the same size as tank if C) They enjoy the light but it has too much spill and regret not going 1 size smaller.

Yes, I know this is opinion based but would love to hear people's opinions.

Thanks

I had a 48" fixture over my 75 which was 48x18 didnt seem to be a whole lot of spill depended on mounting height. I loved the blanket coverage of having one the same length of the tank

48" over 48" tank and I agree with crabs.

I have a 48" over a 48" and I like the light. I'm confused what you mean by spillage of light? Do you mean that the light shines on the floor around the tank? If so my floor doesn't seem to mind a little light on it, plus helps me to find snails when they fall out.

Thanks to everyone that has taken the time to respond so far. This helps heaps!
Would love to see more opinions so keep'em coming! ;Pompus

Get the 61” I bought the 48” for my 60” tank and after a month ended up getting the DX18 and have way better coverage on the ends of my tank

I'm in the same boat as the OP. Do you have any pics of this set up?
