They do sell a dimmable version for a little less than twice the price. I think youre still talking timers for on/off, though.

Yes. Wanted to add t5 to my current hydra system. The fixture is dimmable but does not have the controls built in. Alas I spent 2 bills plus and need to unplug this manually turn the fixture on and off

Yup, as noted above, any timer would work. Another option is a smart wifi plug such as these, which allow you to get much more creative with the programming:

Just be careful not to overload the plug. That particular model is rated for 10A, but there are others rated for 15A.

I will buy a new one to be sure. Wasn’t sure if these would work on fluorescent lights.
