Yes, it’s very good for small tanks.

I've been using one on my 20 gallon long for the past 6 months or so and so far so good. (especially for the price) Just make sure nothing clogs the pump intake when it's on and you should be good to go. Cleaning the skimmer once every month wouldn't be such a bad idea either though. (for optimal performance) GL.

My question is, will it be enough for a 40 gallon breeder? I know it says up to 30 gallons, but with the rock & sand in my tank, the total water volume is around that.
Thoughts?
