I have this reverse osmosis unit. Everything was working great until I changed the resin chamber filter. Everytime I open the blue valve to make reverse osmosis water the chamber which houses the filter empties . When I shut the valve it fills back up. Is this normal. It never happened before. Attached is a video

Thanks

Its not. May be a defective cartridge. Try tapping it as there is I believe a check valve within.

Water still comes out yes? What happens sometimes is air gets trapped. The water is still moving thru the chamber and filter but the chamber does not fill with water on the outside. You can slightly unscrew the filter housing and let he air out while its running. Before the water hits the threads tighten it back up. This sometimes works and sometimes not.

I agree on air which is why I suggested he taps the cartridge

How do I prevent this from happening again.

I dont have an answer to this. For me each time is different. Some times the air bleeds out and sometimes it gets trapped. I dont worry about it. It does not effect the output TDS or amount of water produced.

Ok cool.

What I find amazing. Before I posted here.
I sent this message to the
The company that makes my unit.
They could not tell me what was wrong.
They told me it probably is a faulty check valve or something wrong with my sustem. lol. All it was is trapped air. Just like you said . They didn’t know this. Very strange

I dont think they make the unit. Most units are assembled from the same parts, prob made in china, by the same factories. They slap their name sticker on it and out the door it goes. Unless they have installers, they might never know what issues and fixes are done to the unit.
