Aquatic Life RODI float valve not shutting off

I bought one of those Aquatic Life RODI float valve kits, and the pressure sensitive solenoid does not actuate when the float valve rises. My pressure is only at 40psi (I'm on a well). Does the solenoid need more backpressure to actuate or what? It just makes a loud pulsing noise but the water never shuts off.

Can you link to the kit? You have a solenoid valve that is powered and not a passive automatic shutoff valve?

That’s an 80 psi solenoid. They are designed to work with a pump to shut the pump off. If you don’t have a pump you just need the float valve and an auto shutoff valve.
