Aquatic life t5 hybrid timer question

doesnt come with one, so I’m using a orvibo WiFi smart plug
I can’t seem to find the rating on the fixture where I look but the WiFi plug says
Input 120v-.15 a, 60hz
Max Output 120v-.15 a
I tried it and I heard the timer kick on but the lights won’t or they will and they just go out
I’m thinking it’s probably not a great timer to use....
Any suggestions?

I called and found the answer to my own problem.
He said that since it’s a WiFi timer that it may be interfering with the fixture itself and to use a old mechanical timer. So far that works which is kind of a bummer because I was hoping for everything to go WiFi

You can use a controller also, they’re just a real fancy timer in regards to the fixture...
