Hey guys, I was looking at the Aquatop 24g cube. It comes with a 20w 12k LED. Is that enough to grow some beginner corals and maybe a bubble tip anemone?

It might be enough for softies, but i would just upgrade to an AI Prime 16 HD. That would be a perfect light for an 18x18x18 cube and would allow you to try just about any coral given proper placement

I have the same tank. I was able to grow zoas just fine with the stock light. The light is a single plug for the white and blue lights, but a separate switch for both. I upgraded to an AI Prime for a powerful light as well as controllability.

Ok thanks guys. If I upgrade to a prime, could I use the stock light for a quarantine tank? Also how long should I quarantine corals/ anemones? I've seen some people qt anemones and some just rinse them, thoughts?

stock light would be more than enough for a fish qt.
if you get a little creative and use some egg crate or racks to keep light loving corals higher up in the water column, it would probly work for that too. Not sure about nems.

Same tank as well. The stock line did pretty good for beginner corals. Soon as I upgraded to the Ai Prime the corals loved it. That was the first upgrade I did. Second was changing to a different protein skimmer.

do you think stock light would be strong enough for a frogspawn coral?

Hey, what skimmer did you change to and how big of an impact did it make? The included skimmer works, but seems fairly basic

Sorry been off this for awhile as for the stick light not sure. I added my hammer and torch after I switched to the Prime. As for the skimmer I believe it’s a knock off version of the skimmer below or it could be the same. It doesn’t have the name on the cup. It does a better job I believe then the stock one my stock one never seemed to constant skim. I could weeks before having to empty the cup or gave anything in the cup. I placed it in my center compartment since I only have the bio media bin and my carbon and GFO are in the first chamber.
