Aquatop 40 canister filter

Hello everyone. Hoping someone can give me a good idea on how to run my canister. I currently have a aquatop 40 gallon. I’m trying to keep everything in the chambers in the back. I have a fluval fx4 that I added to the tank today. I have the outlet of the filter not in the chamber. Any ideas how I can do this better? I feel if I add the outlet to the rear chamber it will overflow due to the high flow

Isn't your tank an AIO (all-in-one) design with the sump and filtration already setup for the back?

Yes. But built with a extremely poor filtration system. The pump provided with the tank is very inadequate. Hardly creates any suction at all.

I would think the outlet would need to be in the display and not in the back filter area for the reason you stated above.
