So this might’ve already been discussed but I have a 40 gallon aquatop and I want to replace to stick plumbing and pump with something new any suggestions far as the pump and the output hose

As you can see the plumbing is a taken off due to me wanting something better for the pump

what i did was used the same hole, 1/2 threaded new flow spiggot. 1/2 threaded back form home depot with tubing and SS clamps and a new aqueon 2500 pump from petco for 30 bucks 515 GPH. you need to upgrade the pump. stock one sucks. took out all the stock media, filter floss in 2 baskets in the first chambger, second is skimmer, third is charcol and bio balls under.
