Hi! I’m looking at putting activated carbon in my tank to clear up my tank. It’s less than two weeks old with bacteria bloom. I have a few questions. Can you use both at the same time or do they do the exact same thing? Is the AQUATop Clear Magic made out of carbon as well? I’ve had good results from using it on freshwater years ago and found a packet going through my old equipment. Pictured is a Fluval AC pre-bagged as well. I know what AC does but not sure what the Magic Clear is made of and whether I can use them together or not. I don’t want to kill any good bacteria in the tank while it’s working out its cycle. How much carbon do you dose for a 20g? I’m used to just buying pre bagged so I don’t know what range levels to stay at (don’t want to overdo the AC). I don’t have corals or fish yet. I’ve been told to change it out every few days but can this be extended to a weekly change out?

Its basically a floculant from what I read. I would just put some good carbon in a nylon bag and be done.
I had a bloom a few days ago and it was gone in 24hrs running rox carbon.
